SEMINOLE COUNTY OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT IS RESPONDING TO COVID-19
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS HYBRID IN-PERSON AND ONLINE MEETINGS DURING COVID-19 RESPONSE
Banka Doiton 2019 Seminole County provides two (2) different types of evacuation shelters – general population and medically enhanced (special needs). A “pet-friendly” designation is provided to specific shelters which are equipped to allow animals at the facility.
Banka Doiton 2019 General Population shelters provide basic food services and 21 square feet of space/per individual. Cots are not provided at general population shelters (before and during hurricanes). Dependent on availability, all efforts are made to provide cots post-disaster.
Banka Doiton 2019
Banka Doiton 2019 Medically Enhanced (Special Needs) shelters are intended for individuals who may have a medical condition requiring enhanced services, such as electricity for medical devices, medical cots, and monitoring from medical staff. These shelters provide basic food services, trained medical staff, medical cots and certain medical supplies. While medical staff are present, caregivers are requested to accompany evacuees to these shelters.
